Planning your kid’s birthday party can be really exciting and stressful at the same time. The theme, party decors, venue, invitations, games, program, favors, and guest list are just some of the items you need to carefully think of and execute in order to provide a special and memorable birthday party to your child.
Sometimes, though, many parents get stuck at the initial planning stage and couldn’t even think of a decent or unique party idea for their kid’s big event. If you are tired of the usual cartoon character or princess-themed birthday parties that most fast food restaurants offer, here’s something that will surely jumpstart your party planning attack – cake decorating!
It all started when my sister-in-law asked me to come up with a party theme for my niece Carmen’s birthday. She wanted it something different and special, so I thought of cake decorating. Who could resist decorating your own cake, right? I knew right then and there that it would be a hit to both the kids and adults who will be attending my niece’s birthday party.
And just as I imagined, kids had fun decorating their own cakes. Even teenagers and moms joined in, as well, and unleashed their artistic sides to prettify a simple, boring cake.
For decors, guests used icings of different colors, marshmallows, sprinkles, chocolate chips, and toppers to create attractive and colorful cake creations.
To add excitement to the party, I also made a dessert buffet of pink and black with more cakes to enjoy.
If the guests enjoyed the party that my sister and I prepared for Carmen, I was all the more pleased by how the party became the talk of the town.
